You have the skills, so why not?
If you find yourself playing video games day after day, you can be an excellent candidate to establish yourself as a gaming expert. All you need is a good knowledge of a wide range of games and gaming systems, and of course a lot of patience. The rewards are phenomenal and eventually you will be a better person for it.
So, what’s an expert? What is it that everyone is eligible to be an expert on something? As there are no colleges that offer diplomas in this genre, we can qualify any player as an expert who has the qualities described above. So if you have the knowledge or the ability to play a game with ma somehow – and you like to solve problems, you probably claim the rights to expert status.
Be sure to ensure your own growth in the gaming industry. Part of being an expert is admitting that there’s always more to learn and in the gaming industry, this should never be a hard thing to do. By exposing yourself to new games and new gaming systems, you can turn every opportunity to play with one into a chance to learn more than you already know. By doing this, you learn tons of new strategies and expand your ingenuity as a point of help to others.
You also make various efforts to collaborate with others involved in video games. Get out of the game and get out into the audience so you can network and discuss your findings with others. Networking gives you the wonderful opportunities to share or exchange trade secrets, educate others and learn something new at the same time. And the relationships you build through it are just invaluable. There’s probably no other way for you to access little-known game secrets besides networking among the best players around.
If you’re fully committed to becoming a gaming expert, consider having some lessons on game programming. Find and adduct and find training programs that are offered both in your environment and in the gaming industry as a whole. This is an excellent way to learn everything anyone would like to know about games, and it’s good access to the gaming industry if you’re not too crazy about making a commitment to a full-time gaming career.
You also subscribe to game magazines, join online discussion boards, or sign up for book clubs that focus on game material.
Please note that your status as a gaming expert is not always appreciated. Strong criticisms – right or wrong – come with the glory of being seen as the “answer to everything.” As an example, you are turned down by an opportunity that makes you feel perfect for it, or you have the vomit of a less experienced heckler experience. The first rule is not to accept rejection or spit in person. People may be jealous of your position, or they may want to test it just to see how much you really know (or don’t). The reasons behind these answers to your help don’t really matter as long as you have faith in the quality and value behind your help. A true expert looks beyond these things and they are constantly looking for ways to improve themselves.
